The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club would like to congratulate goaltender Chris Driedger on being added to the Team Orr roster for the 2012 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game to be played February 1 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC.

"We are very proud and excited for Chris,” said Calgary Hitmen General Manager, Executive VP and Alternate Governor Kelly Kisio.  “As a young goalie he continues to work hard and improve daily.  The opportunity to play in this game is a reflection of his commitment, character and ability."

Driedger, a 17-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was ranked 12th among North American Goaltenders by NHL Central Scouting in their midterm rankings.  At 6’2’’ and 186lbs., Driedger is playing in his second season and first with the Hitmen.  In 27 games he carries a record of 13-7-2-1 with one shutout and a goals-against-average of 2.86 and save percentage of 0.894.  Driedger replaces Malcolm Subban of the Belleville Bulls who is unable to participate due to injury.  



Driedger and the Hitmen look to extend their three-game winning streak when they welcome the Vancouver Giants to the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday, January 27.  Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. for the Husky Hitmen 7th Man game.
