Flames Foundation and Hitmen donate $30,000 to Japan Quake and Tsunami Relief Efforts

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames Foundation for Life and the Calgary Hitmen will be donating $30,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of the Japanese Earthquake Relief efforts.  The funds were raised through the Flames Foundation 50/50 Raffle on March 17th and the Hitmen 50/50 Raffle on March 16th.

On March 11, 2011, northeastern Japan was struck by one of the most powerful earthquakes in recorded history – magnitude 8.9 on the Richter scale.

The Canadian Red Cross is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.  In cooperation with the Japan Red Cross, teams are working around the clock to help millions of people left devastated by the earthquake and tsunami.
