Hitmen open pre-season with a 3-1 victory over the Tigers
The Calgary Hitmen opened their six-game WHL pre-season schedule Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers at the Edmonton Oil Kings sixth annual Pre-Season Invitational.
Carson Samoridny (2g) and Greg Chase (2a) added two points each for Calgary, while Travis Sanheim also scored in the win.
Chris Driedger had an impressive 34-save performance between the Hitmen pipes as Calgary’s line-up featured only nine regulars from last season.
The Hitmen wrap up the tournament tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. when they face the Swift Current Broncos at Servus Credit Union Place in St. Albert, AB.
