On a tail end of two games in two nights, the Calgary Hitmen were shutout 4-0 against the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night on the road
Medicine Hat, AB – Rookie goaltender Marek Langhamer made 30 saves for his first career shutout as the Medicine Hat Tigers blanked the Calgary Hitmen 4-0 Saturday night at the Medicine Hat Arena.
Blake Penner and Kyle Becker staked the Tigers out to a 2-0 first period lead.
Medicine Hat kept coming in the second period adding two more off the stick of Chad Labelle and Elgin Pearce.
The Tigers went 1-6 on the powerplay while killing all seven Calgary chances.
The Eastern Conference leading Hitmen now 31-12-1-3 will enjoy a full five day break before returning to action on Friday night in Lethbridge against the Hurricanes.
Next Hitmen home game is Sunday, January 25th against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome.
