Farley was born during the annual Teddy Bear Toss in December of 2004. He was a donation from Flames' mascot Harvey the Hound for all the fans in the Pengrowth Saddledome.

Farley spends time in the off-season at the Atco Gas Swift Fox exhibit at the Calgary Zoo. Fans can also find Farley at a number of different community events during the season, if he's not at the 'Dome.
